Use technology to detect counterfeit notes and products : C M
Kerala Chief Minister Shri V S Achuthanandan asked technical experts to come out with devices that would help detect counterfeit notes and products in the country.
Speaking after inaugurating the 'International Conference on Anti-Counterfeiting Technologies' at Thiruvananthapuram on May 28, 2009, Achuthanandan said there was large number of counterfeit notes and products in the market. Steps must be taken to detect and bring the forces behind counterfeit products before law, Chief Minister said.
State Home Minister Shri Kodiyeri Balakrishnan said as per an estimate there were counterfeit products worth Rs.2000 crore in the country. Counterfeit notes were also in circulation in the country in large numbers threatening the economy and national security, he added.
The two-day conference, an initiative focussing on curbing counterfeiting through knowledge sharing among international community, was organised by the State-owned Centre for Development of Imaging Technology C-DIT.tudies

Announcing the award,State Minister for Culture and Education Shri M A Baby said the award consisting of Rs.1.25 lakh and citation would be presented to the artist on a convenient date.
