Entered public life through library activities and politics through K.S.Y.F.  Became Member, C.P.I.(M) in 1971.  Was Branch Secretary and Local Committee Secretary, Koratty; Area Secretary, Chalakkudy; District Committee Member, Thrissur (since 1977).  Was Area Secretary, Karshaka Thozhilali Union; Director Board Member, Koratty Service Co-operative Bank for five years from 1987.  Served as Ward Member (1979-1984) and President of Koratty Grama Panchayat.

Now, District Vice-President and State Committee Member of Karshaka Thozhilali Union.  Recipient of ‘Poulose Thakkolkaran Award’ and Award of the Rotary Club for ‘Best People’s Representative’.

Previously elected to K.L.A. in 2006.
