Started Political life in student days, participated in Balasanghom, S.F.I., D.Y.F.I. and All India Democratic Women’s Association; President, Kunnummel Grama Panchayat (1995 – 2005) and during this period, the Panchayat won the award for ‘Best Grama Panchayat’ in district level.

Now President, All India Democratic Women’s Association, Kozhikode District Committee; Member, All India Democratic Women’s Association, Kerala State Committee; District Committee Member,  C.P.I.(M).
