Antony Ministry during the IX KLA and Minister for Power in the Oommen Chandy Ministry (2004-2006); Secretary, Congress Legislative Party during X KLA, Chairman, Committee on Public Accounts (1998-2001) and (2006-2011), and Committee on Public Undertakings (2001-2004) of Kerala Legislative Assembly.

Previously elected to KLA in 1977, 1980, 1987, 1991, 1996, 2001 and 2006.
