Entered Politics through K.S.Y.F; Was Joint Secretary, Electrical- Mechanical Association, Polytechnic. During the period of Emergency, Led students strike against the rise in value of rice and wrote and presented the play ‘Pattini’ and was arrested.  Recipient  of Mahatma Jyothi Bahulae National Award of Kendra Dalit Sahitya Academy (2002), Abudhabi Sakthi Award (2005), Sreekantan Nair Smaraka Puraskaram, V.K. Krishana Menon Award, Thoppoil Bhasi Award, National Safety Award etc. Was Secretary, Kerala Sahitya Academy.
