Stationery Department of Kerala Government is a service department entrusted with the task of supplying stationery materials to other Government offices needed for their day today functioning. The department functions under the Controller of Stationery with his head quarters at the campus of Government offices near PMG junction.
The responsibilities of the Controller of Stationery are devolved under two separate Deputy Controllers : one dealing with administration and the other handling the stores. The department has four regional offices at viz, Thiruvananthapuram, Ernakulam, Shornur and Kozhikode. District offices also function at Kollam, Alappuzha, Pathanamthitta, Kottayam, Thodupuzha, Malappuram, Thrissur, Wayanad, Kannur and Kasaragod. Regional offices are functioning under Assistant Stationery Controllers and the district offices under District Stationery Officers.
To facilitate the supply of stationery materials to the Government Secretariat, Secretariat Stationery Office of the department is functioning at Secretariat annexe from November 2009. Secretariat Stationery Officer is the head of this office. Stationery Inspectors have been posted at the district level to inspect the accounts regarding the use of stationery. The quota of stationery needed for the consuming departments are decided and additionally allocated on the basis of the reports of Stationery Inspectors.

1. Procurement and distribution of machines and stationery materials needed for all Government offices including the Government presses. 
2. Making and distributing file boards, office envelopes and bound books needed for Government offices through the paper making units under Khadi Board or charitable societies.
3. Making and distributing seals and stamps for the use of Government offices.
4. Making region based annual contracts for disposal of waste paper in Government offices.
5. Maintenance and repair of typewriters and other office machines in a time bound manner.

• 1. Stationery Controller - The head of the department of stationery is the Stationery Controller. Stationery Controller is the authority of all postings and administration activities of the department.
  2. Deputy Controller - Deputy Controller will be the in charge of all administrative activities while the absence of stationery controller. Deputy Controller is the authority to pass all the bills regarding purchase and establishment of the head office of the stationery department. One another important duty vested with the deputy controller is to control the day-today activities of the Thiruvanathapuram stationery office.
  3. Assistant Controller - Assistant Controller is controlling four Regional offices of the stationery department. All the administrative activities of establishment except posting of personnel are also under the control of Assistant Controller.
  4. District Officer - District Officer is the authority of district office administration.
  5. Stationery Inspector - Stationery Inspector is to verify and check the statements and records regarding the utility of stationeries at each Government offices of Kerala. The quota fixation of stationeries to government department/offices, renewal of quota and allocation of additional quota etc are based on the report of stationery inspector.
  6. Chief Store Keeper - Supply of stationeries to all sub offices of stationery department and to Government press is vested with Chief Store Keeper.
  7. Senior Superintendent - Whole responsibility of establishment and purchase section of the department is vested with Senior Superintendent.
  8. Chief Foreman - It is the chief foreman who is to control the stationery workshop. The duties of Chief Foreman include the inspecting of stationery workshops, giving instructions/guidance to mechanics etc.
  9. Mechanical Foreman - Mechanical foreman is controlling the activities of Thiruvananthapuram Stationery workshop. The custodian of spare parts is also the Mechanical Foreman
  10. Assistant Foreman - The control of three regional workshops are vested with Assistant Foreman
  11. Mechanics - To carryout the repair and maintenance work of various machines of Government offices.
  12. Store Keeper - Supply of stationery items to various offices.
