Enroll to National Population Register is mandatory
Directorate of Census Operations, Kerala has issued a directive for the public, asking them to attend the biometric camps for preparing National Population Register (NPR), even if they have already enrolled for Aadhaar.
The Census Director Dr V.M. Gopala Menon said in a press release the other day that attending the biometric camp is mandatory for each and every usual resident of the country as per the Citizenships Acts and Rules made thereunder, even if they have already enrolled for Aadhaar. Those residents who have already enrolled for Aadhaar through other registrars of UIDAI have to bring their Aadhaar enrolment slip/ card to the camp and their biometric data will not be captured by NPR, subject to the conditions that demographic details collected for NPR should tally with that in the Aadhaar slip/ card produced by him.
Physical presence of individual in the NPR camp is compulsory for all such persons and the household should submit their filled in KYR+ forms in the NPR biometric camps set up in their area. NPR will prevail in the case of any discrepancy in any of the demographic data between NPR and Aadhaar and biometry need to be captured again.
