Nursing Council Reorganised     
According to the Kerala Nursing and Midwifery Act elections to the Nursing Council has to be held once in 5 years. Since 1989 elections were not held; instead, members were nominated. Present Government held elections to the Council and it is placed under a separate Registrar. So far, the Registrar of Medical Council looked after the affairs of the Nursing Council as well.
