FACULTY TRAINING
It
is the general policy of the department to depute members
of the faculty for training to update their technical knowledge
and to introduce them to the modern trends and developments
in instructions. Under Quality Improvement Programme faculty
members were deputed for higher studies in postgraduate
and Doctoral level.
PLACEMENT AND TRAINING
There
is a Placement and Training wing under the Directorate of
Technical education under its control a supervisory Development
Centre is functioning at Kalamassery. Degree/Diploma holders
in Engineering and Technology are being selected for Apprenticeship
training in various Government departments and Quasi Government
organization as per the Apprenticeship Act of Government
of India.
Supervisory development programmes are being conducted for
the final year students of Engineering Colleges and Polytechnics
with a view to develop managerial skill. During 2000-2001
financial year 1648-degree holders and 4710 diploma holders
registered their names in 22 disciplines. Among them 2050
diploma holders and 691 degree holders were selected for
training under Apprenticeship Act.
Registration can be done by candidates who has passed Diploma/B.Tech
examination within one year from the date of announcement
of result. A registration fee of Rs. 20/- for B.Tech and
Rs. 15/- for Diploma is levied and the same has to be paid
to the Treasury.
