ENGINEERING COLLEGES & COURSES
There
are 12 Engineering Colleges under the department in the
State situated at Thiruvananthapuram (2 Nos) Kollam, Kothamangalam,
Thrissur, Kottayam, Palakkad (2 Nos), Kozhikode Kannur
Wayanad and Idukki of which T.K.M. College Kollam, M.A.
College Kothamangalam and N.S.S.Engineering College, Palakkad
are private aided Colleges.Government Engineering College
Barton Hill Thiruvananthapuram, Govt Engg College Sreekrishnapuram
Palakkad, Govt Engg College West Hill Kozhikode and Govt
Engineering College Mananthavady Wayanad are newly established
Engineering Colleges started during 1999-2000 and Government
Engineering College Pinavu Idukki is established during
2000-2001 academic year. Regional Engineering College
Kozhikode is a Joint venture of Central and State Government
associated with this Department. In addition to these,
self financing Engineering Colleges are functioning in
the State both under Government and Private sector.

Master
of computer Application Course is offered in the Engineering
College Thiruvananthapuram , Kollam Thrissur, M A College
Kothamangalam M.E.S College Kuttipuram and R.E.C. Kozhikode
with an intake of 30 students each.
Part
Time Post Graduate Courses:-
Part
time Post Graduate Courses are offered in Civil, Mechanical,
Electrical and Electronics Electronics and Communication
engineering at five semesters in Engineering College Thiruvananthapuram
with 15 students per branch.
Full
Time M B A Course:-
Full time Master of Business Administration is offered in
the College of engineering Thiruvananthapuram with an intake
of 20 students.
Part
time M B A Course:-
Part
time Business Administration is offered in the Engineering
College, Thiruvananthapuram and T.K.M. College of Engineering
Kollam with an intake of 30 students each. The duration
of the course is six semesters.
PART-TIME
DEGREE COURSE
Part
time Degree Courses are offered to the employed Diploma
holders in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical and Electronics
and Communication, Chemical Engineering and Computer Science
and Engineering with a total intake of 755 students at Thiruvananthapuram,
Thrissur, Kannur and Kollam Engineering Colleges. Sanction
has been accorded to start Part time degree course at Rajiv
Gandhi Institute of Technology Kottayam with 200 students
intake with 4 branches during the financial year 1999-2000.
The duration of the Course is 4 years.
All the Engineering Colleges except 4 newly established
Engineering Colleges are full-fledged Technical Institutions
with sophisticated equipments including Computer facilities.
