Organisation
The
Department of Sainik Welfare functions under the Administrative
Control of General Administration (Sainik Welfare) Department
of the State Government. The Director of Sainik Welfare
is the Head of the Department. Zila Sainik Welfare Officers
are the District Officers controlling District Offices (Zila
Sainik Welfare Offices) of the Department.
The Director is also the Secretary of State Managing Committee
of Amalgamated Fund. The State Managing Committee of Amalgamated
Fund plans and allots funds for various rehabilitation schemes
for ex-servicemen. Hon’ble Chief Minister is the President
of the Raja Sainik Board, which decides on various welfare
activities to be undertaken by the Department. The Chief
Minister is also the President of the State Flag Day Fund
Committee.
At the national level, Director General Resettlement and
Kendriya Sainik Board have over all responsibility under
the Ministry of Defence to plan and organize activities
of resettlement and welfare of ex-servicemen.
Zonal
Resettlement Directors attached with Army Commands maintain
close liaison with the State Government. The Directorate
located at Command Headquarters, Southern Command, Pune
maintains liaison with all southern States including our
State.

For the conduct of business at Headquarters, Director of
Sainik Welfare is assisted by Administrative Officer, Assistant
Director, Employment Officer, Section Officer and Supporting
Staff.
