PROJECTS

The Nodal Wing of Law Department handles the following Projects which are of high profile in nature.

 

1. Law Prortal


To ensure public access through the website of the Law Department to the State laws and Rules in force and those enacted from time to time, the Project of Law Portal was entrusted to this Department by the I.T. Department. The Project ids being implemented to two distinct phases. As per the first phase of activity, a Website for law department was hosted and the site

Is available for logging at www.keralalawsect.org As the second phase of activity, ‘Kerala Code’ was constructed in the Site, where a Database for all Kerala in Acts and Rules is being created. The Web pages for the ‘Kerala Code’ is designed in such a way that the Principal Act is capable of being viewed with up-to-date amendments duly carried out along with all the Rules issued there under having facility to retrieve any section of the Act at the discretion of the viewer without browsing the entire Act in the Web pages and that too with a single window, besides facility of key board and advanced search options. Facility to view Amendment Acts, quick reach to top/middle/bottom portions of the Act, access to the Search Menu, Rules, Amendments, Location Map and Act Contents are some of the specialties.

2. Automation of Law Library

Law Library is a unique reference library of  its kind in the state of Kerala. It is the most luxuriant, extensive and carefully selected garden of law in existence. As part of imparting new technology in Library Management, the Library Committee has decided to automotive the functions of Law Library. A new Library Management Software and Subscription Management Module has been developed for installation.

2. Modernization of Law Department

This project is to be implemented in various phases. The phases I implementation on the Project has been completed. This high profile automation project of introducing Information Technology in Law department is intended to speed up legal advice by building up a data base which can be accessed by the departments.

3. The project of Court Cases Monitoring Solution for Law Offices

This Project consists of automating the office of the District Government Pleader and Public Prosecutor, Thiruvananthapuram and Web based interlinking it with State Law department. The Project is intended to enable Government to effectively conduct and Monitor cases.
