MATSYAFED
Short name of the 'Kerala State Co-operative Federation for Fisheries Development (KSCFD)'. The headquarters of Matsyafed is at Trivandrum. This is the Apex Federation of the Fisheries Co-operatives in the state A three tier system of fisheries co -operatives with 594 primary co-operative societies at the base, is functioning in the State. Matsyafed implements various schemes on the following:

.Monitoring and Marketing of Fish Landings through primary co-operatives.
.Supply of various fishing implements such as craft, gear, engine etc to the active fishermen
.Housing schemes for fisherfolk
.Insurance schemes for fisherfolk.

MATSYA BOARD
Short name of the Kerala State Fishermen's Welfare Fund Board (KSFWFB)
The headquarters of Matsya Board is at Thrissur. Matsya Board implements various welfare schemes for the fisherfolk by operating a contributory fund viz. fishermen's Welfare Fund envisaged as a per the Kerala Fishermen's Welfare Fund Act-1980
15 Welfare Schemes are being implemented by the Matsya Board. Major Welfare Schemes currently implemented by the Matsya Board are :-

WELFARE SCHEMES OF MATSYA BOARD
1) Old Age Pension for fisherfolk -Rs. 100/ mensum
2) Group Insurance against accidents for fishermen -Rs.1 lakh
3) Financial assistance to fisher family for the death of fishermen while fishing -Rs. 20,000/-
4) Marriage grant for the daughters of fishermen -Rs. 1,500/-
5) Financial assistance to fisher family for the death of fishermen due to natural causes -Rs. 5,000/-

ADAK
Short Name of the Agency for Development of Aquaculture, Kerala (ADAK) The headquarters of ADAK is at Trivandrum.This is a state level agency constituted by the Government of Kerala for implementing various projects on development of aquaculture in the state.

FFDA
Short name of the Fish Farmer's Development Agency (FFDA)This is a district level agency constituted by the Government of Kerala.There are 14 such FFDAs in the state, one each in every district.FFDA is a 'Government of India Scheme' implemented by the State Government intended for developing of freshwater fish culture in its jurisdiction.

BFFDA
Short name of Brackishwater Fish Farmer's Development Agency (BFFDA)This is a zonal/ district level agency constituted by the Government of Kerala. There are 6 such BFFDAs in the state. BFFDA is a 'Government of India Scheme' implemented by the State Government. intended for developing of brackishwater aquaculture in its jurisdiction.
