Organizational
Structure of the Data Processing Centre
The
Data Processing Centre is the Computer Centre of Finance
Department situated in the Kerala University Office
Campus, Palayam, Thiruvananthapuram. This was constituted
twenty years back for the purpose of carrying out
data processing works for streamlining the financial
administration and monitoring the implementation of
plan schemes. As years passed, the functions of the
centre have also changed in tune with requirements
of the Governments from to time. The main functions
of the centre at present are given below.
(i) Imparting technical advice to various Govt. Departments/Public
Sector Undertakings in their endeavor to improve the
efficiency through e-governance;
(ii) Imparting training to Government staff in various
application software;
(iii) Developing software for use in the Finance Departments;
(iv) Coordination/Implementation of various computerization
projects of Government'
(v) Preparation of daily cash flow statements received
from the link branches of SBI & SBT;
(vi) Printing of M.O Pension schedules;
(vii) Functions as an advisory section of Finance
Department on all computer related matters.
